Giertsen Company of Illinois is looking for hard working and reliable individuals who want to make a difference when they help to restore and reconstruct homes and businesses impacted by fire, flood, a storm, or other disasters. This is an extremely important role in our company and we are looking for the best people to fill this opening.  Some duties include lifting, cleaning, light demolition and the packing of contents.   We will guide, train and mentor you.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Professionally represent Giertsen Company and our core values of honesty and integrity
  • Develop & maintain great relations with customers
  • Generate a contents inventory for items to be salvaged or disposed of.
  • Using Assured Software be able to record, label, and download a customer’s content personal property using a laptop in the field.
  • Maintain good internal communications with Coordinator / Project Manager.
  • Maintain organization on all job sites.
  • Complete all jobs in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Follow and enforce established safety practices including the proper use of PPE.
  • Lead co-workers on job sites.
  • Assist in packing customer’s contents.
  • Must have Valid Driver’s License
  • Must be able to pass a Felony Background Check, Drug Screen, and Alcohol Screen

Education Requirements

High School Diploma or Higher

Experience

Entry Level to 3 to 7 years experience

Physical Demands

  • Lift (constantly) 5-40 lbs., lift (frequently) 20-50 lbs.
  • Involves significant stand/walk/ push/pull.
  • Occasional climbing (ladders, etc.), balancing, crouching, frequent stooping, reaching, kneeling, and handling.
  • Exposure to weather with temperatures ranging from mild/moderate to extreme cold/heat.
  • Exposure to noise levels ranging from moderate to loud with occasional to frequent times.
  • Exposure to fumes from cleaning chemicals, solvents and chemical solutions.

  • Need to be employed with Giertsen for 62 days
  • Need to be full time employee (30+ hours each week)

  • 401K/Roth 401K (Fidelity Netbenefits) Employee needs to be full time for one year. Eligible after one year, with auto enroll, 100% Vested. Giertsen Company will provide a 20% match, with a 6% cap.
